Song Premiere: Andorra – “Four Corners”

Rock’N’Roll with just the right amount of punch to get you through the work day and ready for the weekend.

Philadelphia-based rockers, Andorra, have been making quite the name for themselves since releasing their debut album “etc, etc, etc…” in January 2015.  The self-proclaimed “hairy alt rockers from the City of Brotherly Love” have opened Radio 104.5’s (Philly’s alternative) birthday shows two years in a row, sharing the stage with artists including Of Monsters And Men, Walk The Moon, and Florence and The Machine.  Today, they’re premiering their new single “Four Corners”.

Four Corners hits hard from the get-go with crashing drums and a wall of guitars that foreshadow the song’s chorus and set the tone for the next three and a half minutes of rock.  The verses chug along with a more subtle instrumentation, muted guitars and a straight forward drum beat driving the vocals right back into the staunch choruses.  The shining part of this track is definitely the guitar solo following the bridge; it really screams classic southern rock to me, in the best way possible.

Andorra’s vocalist, Kevin McCall, states, “I started getting ideas for the tune while we were in the studio doing work on our first album. This song really helped set up the motif for the album being ‘there’s no place like home’. At the time I would regularly write in my bedroom and I was inspired by the room itself and decided to lose myself in the lyrical aspects of the song as the song suggests.”  Andorra worked with producer, Mike Weiser, for this release of Four Corners.

Put a little more rock in your day and listen to Four Corners by Andorra, and catch them playing Radio 104.5’s final Summer Block Party of 2016 this Sunday at Festival Pier in Philadelphia.
